They would have to show it more explicitly in BV as with Elfen Lied since Aikawa's past will contribute to a significant part of the story. (Mayu isn't really the protagonist and we just needed to be informed about her past) That would be a challenge unless the anime has a adult theme as well.

By the way, I personally found Elfen Lied anime better than the manga itself. Ended beautifully and left enough room for the viewers to ponder about the themes involved.

I don't know whether this will be nice as an anime because KGNE left me feeling that such drama are better done as jdrama, provided there's good cast and director. (Same thing for Nodame Cantabile)

what annoying is the process of making anime from a manga is when the producer decide to make changes on the storyline and other things that is different from the manga (Usually it make the storyline bad) .

specially with BV contain 18+ material with it , i m sure the producer will edit it so that it can be air publicly. The main reason to make it a anime is the make money if you didint edit it it will be banned/rated adult is some country which is bad for business......

Elfen Lied is very sad at the ending he really did like her

this thread is going way off topic, but i really loved the elfen lied ending. i dont want all my anime and manga to have happy everything is all fine oh what a sunny day endings, kinda dampens them when they do happen and the not so happy endings all elicite strong emotional responses so they leave an impression on you... wow that doesnt sound all that manly of me
