I'm really uneasy on this, because if they made it into an anime, I'm almost positive they'd edit most of the scenes between Aikawa and her stepfather, which would completely ruin the story.

This is anime we are talking about. Adult anime isn't exactly uncommon. However, I am not sure how well this would flow as an anime. It would definitely be a short one. More like an OVA series.

Since anime branches so widely it would depend greatly on who did it. The KGNE anime was serious and fairly well done, so maybe that same studio would be able to pull a BV anime off without ruining it too much. Or maybe Sunrise who did 08th MS Team, Cowboy Bebop, etc.

I do wonder how it would end up as an anime. This is the manga I can even get people who 'hate' manga to read. This manga is loved by just about anyone I have put up to it. However, many of those same people are 'book' people rather than tv people... so dunno if it would appeal similarly to a tv audience. Well, they made Death Note into an anime and it worked out fine, so I suppose BV could work to(for the note, I thought Death Note - Anime was stupid... its flow just didn't seem like something that would work on the screen... I was surprised with how well Madhouse handled that. So I suppose Madhouse would be another one that might make a good BV anime).

Long point short... I would watch it, but I would know better than to expect it to transit perfectly to the screen. Well I could hope.

I think the content is better suited for a live action drama.

i think so too but the english translation never works so well in those but if you find the right studio any manga canpossibly become a good anime as long as they dont bog it down with fill episode ::ex naruto:: and my prime example shall be the light novel/s Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu

very good novels unique story i thought they should have been live action but the anime was amazing and it only had 1 filler episode which is the magic number

Yeah, this would make a good live action drama.

Waiting for it...

Nodame was great. GTO is another that I felt was... maybe not better, but on par with the manga. One that I am really enjoying right now is a new drama based on a manga that we do... well, used to do; Seigi no Mikata. Very funny with a great cast. Oh... and HOTMAN. Awesome manga becomes a great drama, another great cast too, though I missed Konishi Manami in the sequel.

One live action show that is a must see, just for kicks, is Mahou Sensei Negima. The special fx and acting is so terrible that it's actually entertaining.

Yeah, a live action drama would be interesting but finding the right actors for the job would be difficult...

Also, the J-drama adaptation of Sexy Voice and Robo is good(different from the manga slightly, better in my opinion) You can find it on crunchyroll

Really hmm sounds cool i'm a negima fan myself bt i LOVE My camp as well so it sounds liek a good mix.

oh and about the topic i'd be VERY hesitant to make this into an anime or live action i think it's perfect the way it is now normally i'm al for anime form but in this case it jut dosn't seem right in fcat i get a chest pain thinking baout it and that';s not good (kinda like some people can tell bad weather by foot pains i can tell bad things by chest pains)

But would i watch it yes i'll watch any anime read any manga play almost any game (if it's from japan then every game) in essence i am easily amused but not easy to fall in love with a series like bitter virgin. So i say yes and no why i'm not gonna vote.

Okay...I hate Anime. Why? Because it takes amazing series and runs them through the slaughter house(most of the time). I would certainly watch it but I think it would be better left alone. The thing about anime is that people remember the series for the anime and not the manga which waaaaaaay better.

Perfect Example:
Fruits Basket - That is probably the best series I have ever read. It's so amazing. It makes me laugh, cry, yadda yadda. The story is so complex and beautiful. I could go on and on. So I read 7 volumes before I watched the anime. When I finally did, I was appalled. The whole time they hint to YukixTohru shipping, they cut out all Kyo and Tohru scenes, they absolutely BUTCHERED the um..."True Form" chapters. The list goes on...

Point is, Bad Animes happen to Good Manga. Bitter Virgin is a Good Manga.

A live action movie would be interesting...and doable.

It is possible though. The Elfen Lied anime showed this and it was pretty much the same situation. An abusive stepfather and unknowing mother has the character Mayu end up running away from home before anything worse can happen. What is shown is not graphic but mostly in shadow. The idea is that you get what's going on.
