A place to discuss anything.

my manga folder is only 10.3 GB >_< but i dont keep any h-manga in that file and iv read atleast 500 h-manga (1-4 hours a day every day) maby when i turn 18 ill put all of the H-manga into 1 file and see how big it is.
as for the anime... i have a 1TB external HD full and another 1TB with 450GB of anime and 150 GB of VN's. not as big as it should be since iv only been downloading episodes with more then 175mb a piece for a year.

I have to agree about the quality of story in manga as opposed to anime (in most cases anyway,) but i love anime artwork and i like to be able to just lie down and watch it (as opposed to having my finger constantly on the next page button) i also kind of have a fetish for people speaking japanese, and its nice to see things move. A good soundtrack is key to having the right mood and im too lazy to come up with a soundtrack for every manga i read.

to Kamen, holy crap thats alot of manga, where do you put all those books? and where do you buy them ? the only place i can find is chapters and japanese gimmicky stores, and they cost around 12$ a piece. more then i can afford if i was to start buying manga (i get carried away buying things very easily.)

To quote myself again - not the quantity is important, but the quality. And I only have quality stuff. ^_^
I even edit another series (I'm a perfectionist proofreader, even though my main language isn't English) that is running on hanashi.org (great group as well) called "Honeymoon Salad". It's friggin' awesome.

I wish I could get a hold of perfect e-manga of all the series I have. I wouldn't mind spending money on that, since it'd beat the paper copies by light-years.
Anything like that available? No? Well it should be! XD

Honeymoon Salad, I remember briefly entertaining a thought about working on that series back in 2003 with some other group.
I like digital form, but I still prefer real paperback. Japanese release have that nice stationary smell to it (unlike American ones, which stinks of glue half the times).

For domestic manga, RightStuf is a great place to order it online. They always have a sale of some sort going on. The best time to buy manga from them (unless it ends up in the bargain bin) is during a studio sale. During that period of time, the prices on manga will be marked down 33% (almost 40% if you purchase their Got Anime? membership - 12USD per year, non-autorenewing). From your profile, I see that you're in Canada. They offer free shipping to Canada on orders over 150USD. A large amount, to be certain, and I'm pretty sure it used to be less than that, but you said you get carried away buying stuff so that may not be much of a problem :P . Standard shipping to Canada on orders under 150USD is $7 for the first item and $2 for each item afterwards.

For imported manga, I prefer YesAsia. They offer free shipping on orders over 39USD to both the US and Canada. If there's a volume of Japanese manga that you want to buy (and is still in print) but isn't on their website, send their customer service an e-mail with details about the volume (title and ISBN number should be all they need) and they'll add it to their site relatively quickly.

Oh, and as for where I put them... bookshelves, drawers, and plastic storage bins.
