Volume 2 will be out this summer, I promise. I just haven't found time and whatnot to start scanning.

Awesome. I noticed this on YesAsia the other day and am waiting on grade results for finals to decide whether I'll purchase now or later. I was going to ask if you guys had Volume 2, but I see that's not going to be a problem. :)

I'm sort of new to the Kana family of fans, though: I only just discovered it the other day when I described the kind of H-manga I was hoping somebody would write some day and they said to me, "Dude! You just described the plot of My Lovely Ghost Kana!"

Between Yuria, Kana, and Virginna Kankei, I'm happy to see that there are people out there who share the same interests in "good, plot-worthy hentai" that I do. So much of the hentai out there has the narrative quality of a 5 year old's essay, it's great to see you guys translating things like Kana which are so substantive they really ought to be sold in America ... if only it wasn't for the sex scenes and our culture's prudishness.

No, I haven't! Lolis and girls with short hair generally aren't my thing, so I gravitate towards the stories with the older women with longer hair on the covers. (Superficial, I know! ) But seeing as you've translated all five volumes, and seeing as Kana won me over despite being a short-haired ephebo, I guess I'll have to give it a look, then, won't I? :)

Watch out for Ai-Ren... It's pretty hardcore story-wise...

Hardcore with the sex? Considering the cover girl, that would be enough to turn me off. But if the sex is anything like in Kana, then it's not a problem. Kana's sex was almost never about the sex -- it was about showing two lovers, where one happened to be a ghost. If Ai-Ren's is similarly themed, then it shouldn't be so bad for me.

If you mean hardcore with the plot (i.e. "you're going to need tissues for this one, and I don't mean for their other use! :P"), then hey, bring it: I'm a sucker for a good tragedy!

No, it's not ecchi aside from one or two scenes, but it's by the same mangaka as KANA. It can give you an idea of how KANA may go or end up. You can already feel some of the despair that was so prevalent in Ai-Ren.

Well whatshisface almost died already in the first volume. Even though that might be a good thing, since then he and Kana would both be ghosts. Kana almost disappeared completely etc. It's that same feeling of impending doom.

I dunno. I was sure Daikichi would die and then when Chapter 08 rolled around I was like, "Holy shit! Already!? " I have to admit I was surprised that he didn't die given how the author so conveniently set it up. And so I admit it: I fell for the trap hook, line, and sinker.

The only way (now) I can see Kana going in a sad direction is if she has to move on, but frankly, that can be looked at as a good thing, too, since it means that her soul can move on (following the Mahayana tradition) and if the author is so inclined he could even have Daikichi and Kana meet again in another lifetime.

Tragic? Hmm .......... no, I can't say I can see Kana ending tragically at this point. :( Kana's already dead, and the only way for her to be separated from Daikichi would be partially good (see above). I suppose I could imagine a tragic ending for Kana ("When Kana moves on, all of Daikichi's memories of her vanish from his mind, never to return") but I doubt anything like that would happen. Feels too contrived. I got a good feeling from Kana, at least, that this author knows what he's doing.

And if Kana moves on Daikichi is all alone. That's sad to me. Even if they meet again in another life that's sad to me because they will be apart nonetheless. Speaking of Ai-Ren, although it was tragic, it was also happy. If you read it, you will understand why I compare them.

oh jeez, dont get me started with ai ren, that made me cry. not very manly of me but i love it when a book/movie/anime/manga can get me emotionally involved, and then be good enough to illicit such a strong emotional response. lovely ghost kana has made me smile a whole lot, and had me on the edge of my seat at the end of volume one. I WANT MORE
