Isn't there an email address somewhere you could refer to on the site? I'm pretty sure I saw one somewhere. :S

If there is one thing that Solaris-SVU would need (I can only think of one) is proofereaders. I would happily apply for that job, since I'm reading almost all of the mangas SVU releases.

Well the thing about recruiting is that for every 5 people i bring on, 4 of them disappear before finishing even a single chapter. And then I am stuck with that series so it's a situation where I haven't heard from the editor in a week or two, and I don't know if they are still working on it or not, and I don't want to go ahead and edit it myself or have it edited because then that person's work might go to waste assuming they are still working on it... etc.

Well, noone can expect to give a deadline in this business, when the people working are doing it for free. Organisation is in order.

Still, it's very discouraging when the turnover ratio is so high. You don't see Gari just pulling "MIA" without advance notice. Or this group would be here no more

True...lol XD maybe what you can do is get their emails then if they go MIA just send them an email just to check up on their progress...If they don't reply then get a new one I'm sure that there are a lot of people who are willing to contribute to your worthy cause hehehe...Its all about keeping strict guidelines to follow so that release dates could be regulated at the very least...

Im not so sure about that because if you have a steady team that you talk with at least once a week I'm sure you could approximate a release date.

I would still like to try since I also read almost all the Solaris-SVU releases.

It's funny when we get the crispiest scans, edited to the max & some of them have these typos, really gets on my nerves. I would edit them myself, but there's only that much time for self pleasure.

If you need any help with Umi or Kana, please feel free to drop me a line. As you can tell from my other work, I'm rather handy with Paint.Net and GiMP, and I have been paid to be a Tech Editor before - so I can also proofread. If only I knew enough Japanese/Chinese to be able to translate... :D

A lot of people would like to help, but in the end very few of them are able to. Furthermore, as it is right now, I'm barely able to find the time to keep the editors who already help us busy.

Maybe SVU should try posting something in local anime interest groups (from trustworthy members of the team), getting people on your team within the same city(s) makes them alot less likely to bail since it's easier to contact them.
