No nagging implied, but I noticed you have not been posting scans as of late.

Have you been sick, or is something going down in real life?

Whatever is going on I hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the quality work up to now.

...it's been pretty quiet these days...

haven't heard much from BigVinny either, but he's pretty busy from what I gather

I have no internet access. I was switching over to a new provider until they tell me 'it's not available for you' after they already told me that it is when i ordered. So now I tried a second provider, and they said it would be activated last wednesday but that 'it may take as many as 10 extra days if they're busy' so i am about to contact them today. it's been 9 days since the expected activation date. I have a sneaky feeling that it will be the same thing. They will tell me 'oh, we can't do it.'

I may actually have to order home phone service just to get a technician to my house and get the phone lines working. Since it's the phone company that has to hook up the dry loop, but it's a seperate company that I am getting internet from, the phone company may be trying to put the squeeze on their competitors.

To top it all off, I don't even have a computer atm, as I need a new cpu fan in my own. All this coming at a time when I don't even have enough money to do my taxes, so that I can get my returns, so I can't fix the computer now anyway. And, I caught a cold earlier in the week when I was riding my bike to one of the companies that I worked for to get my slips to do my taxes (which I didn't get, because if I had gotten it, i wouldn't have had to pay out of pocket to file my taxes, and could have gotten instant cash back). And that cold is now preventing me from going to work.

When it rains, it pours. Then I get caught in the rain and nearly die. So sad.

Yeah, I know what you mean, that's what happened to me when I switched to dsl not so long ago, really a pain in the rear, my cousin had the same problem, he ended up calling them repeatedly day and night. It took a month to get it working properly for me(still kind of screwy on me though)

...actually now that I think about it he's the one who advised me to do use the same company!...

...read something in the The Star a while back about phone companies pressuring smaller isp's...maybe that's why my internet is so messed up...

hope everything turns out alright

That sucks Gari.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I've been lurking here for some time, and I was wondering if something had happened. I'm not spectacular at it, but I have had some experience with web site maintenance. If you want some help with it, I'd be glad to do whatever I can. Also, thanks for the wonderful scans of Inumimi, Umi-no-Misaki, and My Lovely Ghost Kana.

At least these bunches are more understanding... unlike some people who thinks we are trying to make quick bucks with our hobby (That would be tazmo). For those cynical bunches, we spend money to do this, so if you don't believe it, you can shove that cynicism into the down under and go read something else...

It'd actually be pretty cool if the money you guys (I speculate) make from hosting the chapters on the links you provide would pay off the effort and expenses plus, give each of you a nice little (big, what the hell) share of some dough. This is a very good thing you're all involved in and I appreciate it.

Gari is always scraping in between feeding himself with ramen or going hunger strike. Not to mention that his latest mishap of bike giving out won't help. Only thing I can really think of Gari benefiting from donation is his pc, but honestly, who would edit using old Celeron class? Not to mention that he recycled most parts (save for the CPU and MOBO) to cut down on cost.
Our server is maintained by Ren and I don't remember her ever complaining about needing money.
Only time I tried to make money was using google ad, and that failed horribly (and no, they denied payment). So spending good $100+ on buying original manga as a raw source means that I am forever going on minus as long as I keep up with this hobby.
And same goes with the rest... no donation, no asking for donation, etc, etc...
Still gives me the bitter laugh remembering how some asshats in #lurk think we are doing this to milk money from "poor" leechers. Hmm... isn't the point of being a leecher is to get things free? I mean, other than using their own internet connection (which is also being used to do other things, so it would not cost them extra to download manga), they spare no expense.
Maybe I should ask Gari to make a donation bin for anyone who uses the magic phrase of, "when do you think the next chapter of (****) will come out?"

Well, in other nice sites they have a donation bar. Money donated/ money needed for server costs or etc.
But if you say so ^.^ I'm grateful I've had such a nice time reading perfect, translated manga from great dudes like you.

Because we don't necessarily require money most of the time. Other than a couple instances, like when my computer broke, or i was busted and couldn't pay my internet bill, I don't actively ask for money. As for sites like easy-share, people are downloading the manga anyway, so it doesn't hurt them to wait a few seconds.

Are you still playing MLB 09 The Show and SSBB?
Finally more FFXIII announcement. Those lucky bastards in Japan will see the game in 12/19... while we have to wait few more months for probably dismal dub job (I really could do away with forced English Dub... be more like Atlus and let us choose between annoyingly cutesy japanese voice or eternally awkward and older english voice).
Trying to pick up Heavenly Sword... except my hands get so cramped after mashing triangle and square button endlessly to keep opponents at bay. I was playing Valkyria Chronicles before until my parents (blissfully ignorant sometimes) commented that those characters look alot like Candy Candy. Talk about a way to dampen my spirit.

The only dub job I really liked in recent memory is SMT Personas 3&4. They voices fit really well, I was taken by surprise.
