Scanning...

Postby Gari on Fri May 23, 2008 1:06 am

I've begun scanning Inumimi volume 3. Although it may seem like we've been idle, we do have stuff coming up soon.

No. You heat it to loosen the glue of the binding and then the pages come apart rather easily.

What do you use? A blow dryer? Because if I buy a copy of Bitter Virgin and I heat it wrong...well then it would be a waste right?

I used a microwave... De-binding a book is a real pain.
This looks promising, though I haven't tried it:

Thanks, I'm thinking of buying 2 or 3 copies of Bitter Virgin Volume 4 (one so I can keep it bound, and a second to take apart and scan, maybe a third in case the one I start with I mess up). I'd like to know if Gari or Big Vinny have obtained a copy of the scans before I buy, just so I don't end up with copies I don't need. So if you guys could e-mail or pm me before I buy. It's Sunday 1:15 AM where I am and I get paid Monday. So for shipping a few days. So if I buy Monday, I could get the raws by the end of the week for you guys to translate. :)

I placed an order myself. Takes more than few days, but I only pay $7.00+tax, which is a winner.
If Gari cannot wait, he might ask you, if not, save your copy from the horror of debinding. ^^

I've used both oven and toaster oven as well.

Also pezztalent, it's up to you. If you'd rather not wait a few more days, then go ahead. I'm not too picky about where I get the scans from, and Vinny does have other stuff to scan too, so maybe one less thing for him to do would be better. But, all in all, it may only be a week or so earlier than Vinny will have it.

I'm always up for having something earlier than expected.

By the way Gari... Your avatar is distracting.

Ditto... ...Must...... not... look...

I've always wondered how debinding was done, but it sounds somewhat dangerous.

Thanks for the info. :D
