Umi no Misaki magazine scans

Postby Gari on Sun May 04, 2008 10:04 am

It won't be long now until we've finished volume 2, with a potentially long wait until volume 3, so the question is, would you like us to scanslate the mag or wait for the volume? The pro to doing this is that chapters should release on a more regular basis rather than in spurts (a bunch at once and then none for a while). The con is that the quality of magazine scans is considerably less, and I won't consider re-edits when the volume does release (it's just too time consuming). So, what do you think?

why not start with magazine scans when they come out and then redo them at higher quality when the volume releases come out?

Like I said, redoing them would take too much time and it's not worth it. The time spent editing a chapter that has already been edited could be spent editing a new chapter.

I would prefer regular releases over quality, but I read that it is much more work to edit a magazine scan. If that was true I would rather leave the choice to you because you are the one to work your ass off.

For me it's "no".
I really like your work on volume 1 and 2...and I prefer wait the volume 3 to have the best quality
I understand that you couldn't edit with mag scans and after with the volume so...please wait (we support you so we can wait few weeks... )

PS : Sorry for my "english"...I'm french :?

i prefer better scans since ive already mastered the art of meditation.. so waiting is not an issue anymore for me.. its really the quality that matters

The volume scans would be cleaner and easier to work with I imagine..

I'd say go for quality!

To be honest, if we knew that one of the US manga distributors was going to pick up Umi no Misaki, I would say go for the magazine scans for quicker releases, and I would just pick up the US release for better graphics quality, later. As it is, since we don't know when or even if it will ever get picked up in the US, I would say keep working from the tankōbon for the better graphics quality.

No, I don't think you should scan mags.

Btw, I guess volume two is over?

In all the mangas? I've been wondering why there have been no releases <.<

it really feels like holding a double edge sword deciding on this..

if one says yes he will be happy and content enuff to know it in himself that he is keeping up with the story phase and also gets the advantage of being able to get an early copy of those

on the other hand if we say no,.. we also get the same benefits except for the early copy part but in a better scan qualities..

so basically we can compare it to a movie release coz we always have a choice..

are we the persons who waits for the movie in its DVD-HD release?? or are you prideless persons who degrade the economy for purchasing pirated movies just for your own souls benefit??

Im the patient type coz ive mastered meditation anyways lolz
so the choice is yours...

So i guess everyone agrees on waiting for the best quality Solaris-SVU can offer? Obviously. I don't think people would mind waiting.

Besides, I enjoy reading a bunch at the same time and, while I wait, I can browse other things and play basket-ball. :D

We wait for new releases anyway, so we can just settle for the quality & look forward to the volume scans. They are worth the wait, because you guys do an awesome job at making things perfect.
