New translations?

I was wondering why GSDX has been on hold for so long. Lack of interest, or lack of translators?
I have respect for translators, and I know translators have lives too, so please don't get offended by my asking.

It's because there are no scans, and I am too broke to buy the volumes myself, at the moment.

Don't bother. In total it's something like $80 to buy (the final 3 vols) from amazon.jp (shipping is a bitch). So, donations won't help too much anyway. I just need to set some money aside some time.

I'd suggest using YesAsia over Amazon.co.jp for manga. They have free international shipping and are quite willing to add whatever isn't currently listed on their site to their database. It should only cost about 27USD for all three volumes.
Or, if you'd prefer, I could check my local Kinokuniya to see if they have any of the volumes in stock (a quick glance at their BookWeb site shows that the Los Angeles one has volume 10, so I can pick that one up quite easily if the site is correct; I can probably ask the store to special order the other volumes) then purchase and scan them.
Either way would be considerably cheaper than relying on Amazon.co.jp. They're great for DVDs, but they're terrible for manga.

The only volume listed on YesAsia is volume 8, and I already ordered it from them. However my order was later canceled because their suppliers didn't have it in stock.

Well, like I said, they're quite willing to add new items to the list when asked. All that's needed is an e-mail to customer support with the necessary information (ISBN number and title, in this case)... though I suppose that doesn't help if that avenue has already been attempted.
The Kinokuniya offer still stands. Would you like me to see if I can work something out with them?

Gari, I was just wandering if you ever picked up the last two volumes of the raw manga? Or do you still need them?

Kamen Writer has all the remaining volumes, and is scanning them for us.

I never thought there would be the word "final" in this series. Seemed like a nice story at first (non-DX) that would have a sort of moral or ending, but with DX @_@ it never progressed story... Or did it? I don't really remember story in this.
The Akira girl + main char!!! Come on!

It's always been a "one step forward, another step back" series, just like any other series of indeterminate length. Authors do that so they can either make it go on forever or end it whenever they like.

It's always been a "series only Gari could love" in my mind.
