man...i didn't really get the blotching out of the private parts either...until a couple of days ago my friend told me its published that way unless its released under H ratings where only adults can get a hold of it. Prior to this, I had also thought that the scanlators censored out the manga for the sake of young'ns who downloaded it xD my bad lol

I'm sure we could but it would be a tremendous amount of time, and I don't like making such changes to the artwork. I think it should be seen as it was originally published. It's bad enough we have to cover it with english.

Not quite true.

Japanese censorship law prohibits the genitalia to be displayed directly regardless of the form of medium. Hence why censorship is applied to them. As for the method of censorship is up to the creator/publisher. Some uses the standard "black bar", while others could just erase the questionable portion, draw thin strip in black, white bar, blur or mosaic.
So-called Non-censored censorship uses object in creative ways to achieve the same effect, such as long hair getting in the way, clothes, chair, flying cat, etc...

As for the origin of stupid censorship law (and yes, it applies to JAV, and all those non-censored JAV are technically breaking Japanese law, hence why their headquarter is located in US [mostly in California] in order to sidetrack the issue), you can thank Gen. McArthur and his Christian belief of old days that was introduced during the post-WWII Japan.

There is one known case of breaking the censorship law in H-Manga and the publisher was fined heavily, and had his uncensored copies removed from the circulation. (I have one, and no, I'm not telling you what it is)
