I'm not an authority by any means, but I can't think of one off the top of my head. Would be a bold move for a mangaka to take should they want to be different than the norm...

Tenchi muyo gxp comes to mind, where he is about to get married to four women but gets kidnapped by another four.

and ends up married to 9 though the 9th one is a bit... strange.

I hoping for Karin to get him. I guess I just want the short haired, childhood friend type character to get the guy for once. Unfortunately, I'm almost positive that it won't happen, these stories almost always make the guy go for the first girl they make bond with.

It's a little sad really, I'm really hoping for Karin though.

personally i prefer long hair girls that why i chose shizuku.

hmm.. i think the poll was put up too early. The mangaka is only starting to develop the Soyogi storyline. In recent chapters, Karin was developed the most by far, but when the poll was placed, Shizuku was the main love interest in the story.

So far it appears to be Shizuku as the "Magical Girl" in terms of personality, aka Bell Dandy. On the surphase Karin seem Tsunderish, but in fact, she is the "Girl Next Door" or "Semi-Childhood Friend" character. I assume Soyogi will develope into the Tsundere character.

What I love about this manga so far... I really am getting tired of "choose your favorite girl" dating-sim game approach of past harem mangas like some like minded people are saying. So far, it doesn't seem it's going that way. That is a big plus. If it's harem manga, they should really keep it to the spirit of harem. This "oh no, polygamy is immoral" stuff is all good in real life, but doesn't belong in fantasy manga, especially one that is targetting young males.

Anyway, I also appreciate the lack of lolicon. I really really REALLY appreciate this and hope the mangaka will keep it this way. A lot of mangas have these gimmiky comic characters which ruin it for me. In Umi No Misaki, the teacher is sorta like that, but she doesn't get a lot of panels, so it's ok.

I also agree with previous posters who predict the coming of a "4th" girl. Typical storyline, but can go somewhere... But Umi No Misaki has a sort of Io feel to it... There is the story about the "mystery of the island and Dragon God" that needs to be developed so it might not go that way...

You are right the poll was put up to early. With your comment about lolicon my mind did wander to teh teacher. She does appear a bit young for her age, but not as bad as other mangas. Also with the fourth girl I don't think that that willl happen. With the current characters i don't think that thers room for one more. Just my opinion though.

Yeah. The latest chapter did annoy me a little in that i was looking foward to a harem. Still, lets see how it goes.

I just wonder when we'll find out what the penalty is for those not chosen? In historical settings (this is a fantasy, so I wouldn't read too much into it), such beliefs usually involve the "losers" being sent into exile or worse to insure they wouldn't be around to scheme to screw things up. If something like that is true here, I suspect that will give the Dragon God some reason to hesitate in making a choice. Of course, usually if you must choose, you also have a deadline to do so.

Then again, he IS the Dragon God, and I wonder how far he's allowed to change the rules...

uhmm...Im almost certain that most of canada uses litres for petrol. As for how much it costs, about $1.10 to $1.30. Though, i mnot sure if its the canadian dollar or the US dollar, as im american. though, at 3.5 litres to a gallon, that would come out to about $4-$5 dollars a gallon. About as much as america pays for a 9th of a gallon. anyway, enough about stupidly high gas prices. I would say Karinif i had to choose now, but i honestly would like to wait and see. Though, this mangaka used the "Childhood friend" card on his last work. that being "Ai Yori Aoshi", a beautifully composed manga as well as art to boot. Sorry my rant i so long >_<
